What must be on a South African payslip?
Section 33 of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act requires employers to give a written payslip every payday with: the employer's name and address, the employee's name and occupation, the period of payment, the remuneration in money, any deductions, the actual amount paid, and the number of ordinary and overtime hours worked where relevant.
How PAYE and UIF are calculated here
PAYE uses SARS's annualising method with the 2026/27 tables, age rebates and the monthly medical credit. A bonus is taxed at the marginal rate on top of the annual salary. UIF is 1% of pay (employee) plus 1% (employer), capped at R177.12 each a month.
